As summer quickly approaches, we are excited to welcome thousands of seasonal workers and their families to Maine for the 2024 wild blueberry harvest! Additionally, our Bilingual Childcare Facility, Rayitos de Sol will be opening to welcome year-round and seasonal families and provide bilingual childcare that celebrates identity and culture. As our community grows to welcome families, children and seasonal community members, without a doubt we are more vibrantwhen we come together.
That is why we want to invite you to join our Piece by Piece Mano Mosaic!
As a way to celebrate all of the different members of our vibrant community, the new Rayitos de Sol center will install a colorful, 14 sq. ft., 5,000 piece mosaic. This mosaic will celebrate all of the different people that are part of our community, give folks an opportunity to show support for Mano en Mano services, and become a physical piece of our new childcare facility!
Piece by piece…we can create a work of art.
The mosaic was designed with input from community members and reflects the industries so important to our local community - lobstering, wreaths, blueberry raking, and more. Created by a local artist, Amanda Edwards, we hope to begin installation later this spring.
We need your support to make this Mano Mosaic a reality!
You can purchase a piece!
- 1 piece = $10. Contribute as many pieces as you’d like - $50 equals 5 pieces, $100 equals 10 pieces, etc.

For those who contribute $100 or more, you will have your name (or the name of your choice) installed on a wall sign next to the mosaic in recognition of your part in making this mosaic possible! Just write the name you would like to use in the "Notes" section of the donation page.
You can donate as an individual, partner with colleagues from your place of employment, contribute as a family or a group of friends, and all be recognized! Or you can donate in honor of or in memory of someone, and their name will be recognized.
